Stephen Kinzer, former New York Times bureau chief in Istanbul and author of the new book “The Brothers: John Foster Dulles, Allen Dulles, and Their Secret World War,” sat down with Keenan Duffey, president of the Middle East Discussion Group at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, for a discussion of the role the Dulles brothers played in the Middle East.
1. Stephen always amazes me with his articulate and clear speaking. “The Brothers” is on my Christmas wish list.
2. Is there a gentle way to ask Keenan Duffey to listen to this interview and count the times that he says “uhh”?
3. You probably realize that the acoustics in that room were atrocious.
4. Stephen, “Overthrow” is a masterpiece.
Mr. Kinzer, i was fortunate to hear your interview on an Atlanta radio station a few months ago, and was able to obtain The Brothers from the Dekalb County Library. It was an awesome read, and I really enjoyed the story of the Dulles Brothers, as well as you writing style. I applaud you for all that research done to write this book. I shall look for some more of your books to read. Respectfully, Jack Shenk
